Soul Brothers Ltd was established in 1923 and today, it is still owned by the same family.
How it all started…
In 1907 Mr Fred Soul founded a tin & white smith, hot and cold water and gas fitting business in Olney.
Diversifying in 1923, a 14 seat Metallurgique was purchased, Souls’ first coach.
Fred’s son, Bob Soul, took over the running of the company between the two World Wars. The family connection continued in 1975 with Bob’s son, David joining the business and establishing the current yard depot on the outskirts of Olney town. Today, David’s sons, (another) David and Matthew, are the fourth generation of Souls to be leading the business, having been passengers themselves on the Souls school services.
That sense of ‘family’ underpins how Souls Coaches operates, with many of the drivers having worked with Souls for years and customers coming back to us year on year. It also keeps us rooted in how we continue delivering high quality travel into the future, whether that be keeping people safe during pandemics, being congnisant of families’ rising costs of living, or addressing ‘net zero’ sustainability challenges.
